CBT cognitive triangle showing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influencing each other

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is about understanding the relationships among your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how those emotions or thoughts cause them. It is a triangle. If you learn to break a section of the triangle, you can break or change your behaviors.

Anxiety is the emotion of fear, the behavior that comes from the emotion of fear, or anxiety, which is usually characterized by a rapid heart rate, fidgeting, panic attacks, or other behaviors. When that cycle starts, the ability to stop the fear becomes harder. The thoughts become thinking errors, and the fear grows, leading to the behavior getting out of control.
Learning CBt can help stop that cycle.
